associated with the operation of mechanical equipment and machinery that users must be protected from for example pinch points, wrap points, shear points, crush points, pull in points, and the potential for objects to be thrown from the equipment. EGNW recognized that at its workplace employees will be required to operate tools such as bailers, industrial powered trucks, compactors, auger, trailers, Outlet Range Box Tilter and other machineries/equipment/tools. A risk assessment will be conducted at the planning phase of acquiring equipment/machine/tools or plan layouts by R&S ensuring no new risk is being introduced in the business as well as planning of certification and inspection with regulating bodies, seeking insurance for equipment/machine/tools and developing training for safe use of equipment and ensuring that new layout do not interfere with existing emergency measures or do not meet safety standards. Department Managers will communicate with R&S of any such acquisition. R&S will liaise with Insurance company to insure equipment/machine/tools. EGNW will require all equipment/machine operators to be trained, certified and authorized to operate equipment/machines or use tools that present physical hazards. EGNW will offer in-house training and certification to operators within the first month of employment or prior to using any equipment/machine/tools. All training records will be maintained by Training Department and will be made available upon request. Equipment/machines are provided with guarding and interlocks to prevent accidental contact with moving parts. EGNW will take disciplinary action when employees tamper or remove any such safety guards. EGNW will enforce its lockout and tag out program and managers will be required to ensure users are trained, certified and authorized to apply LOTO or interlock. Training records will be maintained by Training Department on “Training At Goodwill” (TAG) and will be made available upon request. EGNW will require its employees to use appropriate PPE when working on machinery or using equipment and tools that could cause injuries.
