Trailer Pick-Up or Swap

When trailer pick-ups occur, it is important to warn pedestrians, cyclists and drivers of what is happening in order to avoid accidents. When it is time for a truck driver to hook up and leave your site with a trailer, do the following: 1. Have one Donation Attendant move any cones near the Dearborn Street exit that are blocking the truck/trailers path. 2. Have a Stop Sign in hand and use it to notify pedestrians and cyclists that may be coming down the sidewalk to stop for the incoming/outgoing truck. 3. Stand on the sidewalk and block pedestrians and cyclists until the truck/trailer have safely departed. 4. Be sure to put the cones back in place once truck/trailer movement has stopped.
